GreenLeaf Bank and BLP Help Voyageurs Bakehouse Secure its Future with SBA Funding

City of Appleton, WI – Founded in 2018, Voyageurs Bakehouse began as a passion project selling handcrafted sourdough at the Green Bay farmers market. Owners Ben Cadman and Celeste Parins expanded with a café and production facility in Green Bay in 2020, followed by a second location in Appleton in 2021, and now a third location in De Pere.

As the Appleton location thrived, securing ownership of the space became a priority. To achieve this, Gregg Halvorsen at GreenLeaf Bank partnered with Business Lending Partners (BLP) to create a financing solution using the SBA 504 loan program. The funding was structured with 50% from GreenLeaf Bank, 40% from BLP through the SBA 504 loan, and just a 10% down payment from Voyageurs Bakehouse, reducing upfront costs and providing competitive interest rates to make the purchase both achievable and financially sustainable.

Today, the bakery is known for its artisan breads, pastries, and a growing wholesale partnership with Festival Foods. Thanks to Gregg Halvorsen and BLP, Voyageurs Bakehouse secured its Appleton storefront and is set for continued growth. In July 2024, the bakery opened its third location in De Pere and plans to expand its Green Bay production facility, ensuring more communities can enjoy its handcrafted baked goods for years to come.

All three locations are open Tuesday through Saturday, from 8 am to 2 pm.

Owning their Appleton location gives Voyageurs Bakehouse stability and a foundation for future growth. By working with BLP and leveraging the SBA 504 loan, we helped them secure a long-term asset while keeping capital available for expansion.
